The new centre will place QUT at the forefront of developing a world-leading model in the teaching and research of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.

The centre will transform the way teaching and learning is undertaken at QUT.

With an emphasis on technology-enabled active learning, students will be offered the opportunity to engage with their fellow students and teachers in an environment that encourages collaboration and integration.

Rather than being lectured to in a traditional, passive theatre setting, QUT's students will soon be offered the most forward-thinking mode of interactive learning.

Flexible nodes of desks and tables will allow group projects, joint problem-solving, hands-on experiments, and study teams.

This experiential learning will be enhanced by the provision of such visualisation tools as networked laptops, file-sharing applications, and multimedia screens.
