Inclusion and diversity

QUT is dedicated to promoting equal opportunities and support for all students and staff. We have a range of services, including:

Indigenous employment strategy

QUT's Indigenous Employment Strategy (IES) outlines the University's approach and commitment to increasing employment and development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Women in STEM

We aim for our teaching, research and community service to be informed and enriched by a diversity of perspectives. It is our hope that, by focussing on the area of women in STEM, gender equity will become a firm reality.

Gender Equity

QUT has a long-term commitment to equal opportunity for women and a formal program has been in place for over 20 years.

Quality Women in Leadership

The Quality Women In Leadership Program assists women to gain insights into the current priorities and strategic issues within the University and Higher Education Sector, enhance leadership, interpersonal and career development capabilities and build strategic linkages.

Athena SWAN project

The Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) pilot program utilises the Athena SWAN charter, a gender equity evaluation and accreditation framework, in its evaluation of institutions to address the improvement of gender equity policies and practices in STEM.

Women in Research grants

The broad aim of the Women in Research Grant Scheme is to assist academic women in the early part of their research career to enhance their research expertise and track records through completion of their PhD, publishing articles, or progressing research projects.
