Relocation Assistance

It's a big step to move cities and states. An even bigger step to change countries. We appreciate that it's a challenge and, if you do take up a position at QUT, would like to help you make the transition as smooth as possible.

Costs related to interview and relocation on appointment

QUT welcomes applications from candidates outside the greater Brisbane area. QUT may meet travel and relocation expenses incurred in the interview and employment commencing process. This is relevant to candidates applying for professional positions at HEW8 and above, and academic positions at Level B and above.

A number of Brisbane relocation consultants provide a service to those relocating from interstate or overseas. Find information about services provided by Relocations Queensland Link is an external web page. Feel free to contact them for more information on (07) 3832 5523, 0421 088 873 or email info@rq.com.au

Immigration requirements

Offers of employment to overseas applicants are subject to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection granting approval for permanent residency or an appropriate temporary work visa to cover the period of employment. Overseas applicants for most academic positions may be eligible for employer sponsored migration. In these cases the HR Department liaises with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection on behalf of the University. Click here for more information about immigration requirements Link is an external web page.

Applicants are required to notify the University of any immigration restrictions that may preclude them from fulfilling the terms of any contract of employment offered at QUT.
